Mike is a co-founder and Partner at Mosaic Ventures, a new Silicon Valley-style venture capital firm based in London, focused on Series A. Mosaic invests in founding teams that are fundamentally reshaping big markets. Over the previous 16 years as a technology investor, Mike made around 35 investments for Apax Partners, Advent Venture Partners, and in a personal capacity. His investments include King.com (NYSE: KING), Illumio, Moogsoft, Houzz.com, The Foundry (acquired by Carlyle), SuSe Linux (acquired by Novell), Fizzback (acquired by NICE Systems), Ubiquisys (acquired by Cisco), and QXL.com (acquired by Naspers).
Chairman of the Board
Paul Sallaberry is a software industry veteran with a career leading Enterprise-class worldwide sales, marketing, and services organizations. Throughout his career, Paul Sallaberry has held a number of Senior Executive roles in both the sales and operations divisions of major international corporations.
Paul was a Member of the Board of Directors for Quest Software, an information technology, and systems management company that recently became a part of Dell. He provided strategic guidance to Quest as it developed, manufactured, and supported software used in a variety of industries. In addition, he serves on the Board of Directors of Acquia, a commercial open-source software company that concentrates on products and services for Drupal. Sallaberry also sits on the Board of Advisors for PureStorage, Liquid Robotics, and Calypso Software.
Aside from his work as a board member, Paul Sallaberry holds a spot on the University of California, Davis Graduate School of Management Dean’s Advisory Council and the Board of Trustees of the UC Davis Foundation. He is also a Trustee of Sacred Heart Schools and a Venture Partner at Jafco Ventures.
Before taking up his current duties, Paul Sallaberry spent eleven years with Veritas Software, now Symantec, as Executive Vice President of Worldwide Field Operations. Earlier in his career, Sallaberry worked with software companies such as Oracle, Applied Data Research, and Dorado Software. He holds a degree from the University of California, Davis.
Vincent is a venture capitalist focusing on enterprise and consumer software sectors. Today he works for Toba Capital, a firm he started in 2013.
Smith began his career working for Oracle working in a variety of sales and sales management positions.
From 1998 to 2012 he was responsible for leading the strategic direction of Quest Software and served as CEO/Chairman. Under his direction, Quest became a leading enterprise systems management company. When Smith joined Quest, they had just 25 employees. At the end of 2012, the company had more than 4,000 employees worldwide and $1B in revenue.
Prior to joining Quest, Smith co-founded Insight Ventures with offices today in Manhattan, NY and is a leading venture capital firm. In the early 90’s he cofounded Patrol Software which he financed, managed, and sold in 1993 to BMC Software.
Outside of software investing, Smith is an investor in numerous land and real estate development projects throughout California. His foundation, Teach a Man to Fish, do philanthropic investing focusing on enabling passionate successful entrepreneurs who are devoting themselves to vital causes. He is an advisor and financial supporter of organizations like Fuel Freedom, Gen Next Foundation, Augies Quest: ALS research, Cure Duchene: MD research, Orphaned Starfish, Orange County High School of the Arts, MiddleBridge High School and Mount Saint Joseph High School.
Smith holds a bachelor’s degree in computer science with a minor in economics from the University of Delaware.
