We are fast approaching the end of 2018. I always find the quiet time around Christmas a great opportunity to reflect on the year and all that we have achieved! It is also a time to think about how we will improve in 2019 to continue to raise the bar of customer success.
In late 2017, we opened our Center of Excellence in Cairo. The center may have opened in 2017, but it really came to life for our customers in 2018. One of the hardest things to do as a young, fast-growing company is to provide world-class customer support and Cloud Services 24 hours a day, seven days a week throughout the year. The development of this center, whether you are an on-premise customer or a hosted cloud customer, really changes the game. We now have a team of people working around the clock to solve customer cases and monitor our customer’s systems so we can resolve problems before they arise.
In the middle of 2018, we announced a major strategic partnership with DocuSign. I love this partnership as it a true WIN, WIN, WIN proposition. We win as the partnership opens up a whole new route to market for us and amplifies our sales capabilities. DocuSign wins as it enables them to offer a richer offering to their customers and helps them to bring their amazing System of Agreement vision to life. And last, but certainly not least, DocuSign’s customers win as they can now have full visibility into their agreements, develop actionable insights, and make better decisions to enhance their businesses. If the last few weeks are anything to go by, this partnership will go from strength to strength in 2019!
The summer of 2018 was a very busy period for us. In addition to announcing the DocuSign partnership, we also completed our first acquisition. In July we completed the acquisition of Apogee Legal. We have been very fortunate to work closely with this team as a partner since 2015 and I have been truly amazed at the value and expertise they have brought to Seal and to our customers. Their knowledge of the Legal AI space is second to none and their ability to develop Advanced Analytics to enhance the Seal platform is amazing. These analytics enable customers to find the precise answers they are looking to move their businesses forward. As we package these analytics up into Insights Accelerators that solve particular business use cases like GDPR, Brexit, Procurement and M&A, we rapidly speed up time to value for our customers.
One of the best parts of my job throughout the year is meeting with our customers to understand what they are doing with our technology and working with the broader Seal team to make sure they are successful. As I say to our team, “Every customer has a dream when they buy our technology. Our job is to really understand what that dream is and make sure it comes true!” The fun part is that every customer’s dream is unique. The technology is consistent, but the business problems we solve for each customer are incredibly varied.
When I look back on 2018, all of the developments we have made as a company greatly enhance our ability to make our customer’s dreams come true! That is a great thought to end the year with. As we enter 2019, I am confident that we will continue to raise the bar to deliver an outstanding customer experience and achieve our full potential as a company.
